Democrats Mid-Term Strategy Hits a Roadblock

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Harrisburg, PA – The Democrat Party is walking back their tough talk of making a play in Pennsylvania as highlighted by Broad & Liberty. We are six months from the election and Democrats already see the handwriting on the wall.

In 2021, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) promised to “mount an aggressive challenge” to the Pennsylvania legislature. Fast forward to 2022, where Joe Biden’s increasingly unpopular far-left agenda wreaks havoc, and the DLCC is singing a different tune.

Worse yet, the DLCC has begun making pre-emptive excuses for the upcoming election. They claim there are “structural advantages” that legislative Republicans in Pennsylvania hold, including redistricting. The DLCC’s excuses leave out the fact that both the Democrat members of the PA redistricting commission voted for the new maps.

DLCC’s updated memo states “We’re investing to gain ground and if any of these chambers appear more competitive later in the cycle, we’ll make a play for the majority.” This isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement for Pennsylvania Democrat’s chances in 2022.

“The Senate Democrats have a slate of candidates that are too progressive for voters in several swing districts, and it will cost them in November,” PA SRCC Director Cody Harbaugh stated. “If Democrats want to claim that Republicans have advantages in this election its by their own design. Joe Biden created multiple crises at the national level and Tom Wolf has managed the Commonwealth poorly. No number of lame excuses can change that.”
